Hello and welcome to In the Hourglass!

What is this site for? In the Hourglass is an itinerary travel blog for anyone who is too busy to plan their own travel itinerary or wants to be inspired for where your next destination should be.

Who am I? I’m Ro, your guide and I’ll be taking you along through this travel blog! I’m not planning on quitting my day job to travel the world, but I do plan on enjoying my weekends and holidays to explore new places. A little bit about me: I was born and raised in Taiwan, went to school in Philadelphia, worked in San Francisco and just recently moved to Europe. I am obsessed with doing a TON of research before traveling to a new city, but I also make sure to plan my trips with some wiggle room for any unexpected encounters.

What does in the hourglass mean? An hourglass symbolizes time, and specifically remembering to appreciate the time you have. Many of us, including myself, get caught up in the daily grind. And in this connected world, it becomes hard to turn off and truly decompress from work. An hourglass also symbolizes balance as you can see from it’s symmetrical top and bottom. I hope to remind people about work-life balance and through this blog for you to remember to take some time off to see the world, even if it’s just a weekend trip.
